One of the highlights of the BYU academic year is the annual Truman G. Madsen Lecture on Eternal Man which consistently brings to campus insight and inspiration from internationally renowned scholars.
The 2021 Madsen Lecture featured Rabbi Meir Soloveichik from Yeshiva University. Rabbi Soloveichik’s lecture, “The Eternal Jerusalem and the Future of Faith”, drew on the history of Jerusalem to discuss its theological significance. Included in the history Soloveichik will explore is the nineteenth-century journey to Jerusalem by Latter-day Saint apostle Orson Hyde and his prophetic dedicatory prayer.
