The New Yorker Cites Wheatley AI Study

A recent article in The New Yorker investigated various AI companion websites, citing a Wheatley Institute report on how dangerous and widespread the use of romantic chatbot services is.

Despite increasingly widespread use of these AI partners, little attention has been paid to how these simulated relationships may impact family structures. The report Counterfeit Connections links use of simulated romantic partners to significantly higher risks of depression and loneliness.
