Tom Bryan attended BYU studying Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. The second of four brothers, he grew up in Portland, Oregon. Tom enjoys hiking and backpacking in the Central Oregon Cascades as well as the Unita Mountains in Utah. He is currently on a research team at BYU focused on developing new technologies to increase the size, accuracy, and accessibility of the global family tree on FamilySearch.org. He plans to continue his education by earning a PhD in either Computer Science or Economics with the hopes of improving computational modeling tools to allow policymakers to better understand the impacts of their actions. He also plans to develop platforms to teach programming and data science to young students.
