Sarah Sun Kanell

Sarah Sun Kanell is a strategic management major at BYU and was Student Body President from 2024-2025. She served a mission in Southern California after studying applied economics and management at Cornell University, where she was elected Freshman Representative on the Student Assembly. Sarah is a recording artist with Shadow Mountain Records and was previously a member of the BYU Young Ambassadors. As a piano soloist, she has performed with symphonies in the U.S. and China, and at Carnegie Hall. As Miss Utah 2023, Sarah implemented a music program at the Utah State Correctional Facility and spoke to over 60,000 people at 100+ firesides. Her address from the 2024 BYU Women's Conference is published by Deseret Book in "Made for This: Inspirational Messages for Women." She is married to her sweetheart Ted, whom she met when she was 7 years old. Together, they enjoy watching movies, discussing fantasy novels, and going on walks!
