Originally from Fayetteville, Arkansas, Sam served in the Washington DC South Mission (2021-2023) and now lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is majoring in political science and plans to attend law school. His areas of interest include First Amendment issues, religious freedom, and political philosophy. He is the current president of the BYU Freedom of Religion and Belief club.
