O’Kara Kramer loves people: their passions, needs, hopes, and dreams. While serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in San Jose, California, her eyes were opened to the struggles faced by illegal immigrants as they come to the United States. She recognized that there was something she could do to uplift society, and her current endeavors and future plans center on that motive. O’Kara’s current research focuses on political polarization, discourse, and building Zion among Latter-day Saints. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies in Sociocultural Anthropology, she plans to attend law school and study immigration or international affairs.
