Katelyn Cranney

2021 Scholarship Recipient

Katelyn Cranney was born in Monterey, California and raised in Denver, Colorado. The oldest of five girls, she loves anything and everything outdoors – hiking, rock climbing, rafting, etc. Katelyn is an Economics major at BYU with minors in International Development and Mathematics. She loves how majoring in Economics has changed the way she interacts with and thinks critically about the larger world. She is passionate about applying what she has learned as a research assistant in the Economics department and actively tries to seek out and listen to the voices and opinions of women and other minorities in groups she works with on campus. Katelyn hopes to pursue a PhD in economics and someday use her skills to work with organizations and nonprofits to enact sustainable change.
