Jacob Newell is a Political Science student at BYU, focusing on International Strategy and Diplomacy. He has loved learning about the way society is organized and, from his experience in Model United Nations, gained a greater capacity to communicate ideas and find common ground. He is a firm believer that increased dialogue decreases conflict. He plans to attend law school to hone his skills in encouraging respectful civil discourse and thereby become a better advocate for the issues that will help bridge the political divide in the United States. He wants to study International Law and work for institutions like USAID or the UN to represent America’s ideals on the international stage. His desire is to help provide accessible means for the younger generations to be involved and for older generations to be heard. He served a mission to the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He is from Alpine, Utah.
