Austen Lambert studies environmental science and sustainability, with an emphasis in soil science and conservation. He is a project lead in the Biophysical Soil Chemistry lab, which led to his internship with the USDA-NRCS as a soil scientist. He has been accepted into the master’s program for BYU’s Geology Department in Environmental Geology and Soil Science, where he will utilize computer modeling and analog soil samples to predict soil classification throughout the world. He wants to gain international experience and pursue a Ph.D., thereby helping students and people around the world understand how to be better stewards of the earth that will in turn help alleviate the pains of hunger and poverty worldwide. He served a mission in the Washington D.C. area and is from Draper, Utah.
