Student Scholar 2011
Thomas Cook is currently a graduate student at Stanford University pursuing a PhD in chemistry. He is a member of Dr. T. Daniel P. Stack’s research group and is pursuing research in developing discrete molecular catalysts on heterogeneous surfaces for energy-related reactions. He is a 2012 Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) Scholar and worked at Nalco, an Ecolab company, as an intern as part of the award. While at Brigham Young University he worked with Dr. Daniel Ess on computational research exploring the mechanism of an enantioselective enolate allylation reaction. He graduated from Brigham Young University magna cum laude with a B.S. in chemistry.
